DAVE NEWBOLD President / Executive Creative Director Richter7 ADWEEK magazine called Dave “a rising creative star in the Intermountain West’s ad industry.” Dave’s local, regional and national accolades include everything from CLIOs, EMMYs and OBIEs to multiple honors from The One Show, Communication Arts, Print Magazine and the New York International Advertising Festivals. In addition, he has earned over 450 Utah ADDY awards during his career and earned Utah Creative Director of the Year honors. But Dave strongly believes awards are merely a bonus for doing the job right in the first place – that being, to sell a client’s product or services. His creative approach to advertising values thorough research—a philosophy that has taken him to the fields of Major League ballparks and the back shelves of historical libraries to explore the nuances of his subjects. That approach has benefited such clients as American Express, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Mrs. Fields Cookies, Boy Scouts of America, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Foot Locker, Major League Baseball, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Brigham Young University Athletic Department, among others. Dave is a past president and board member of the Utah Advertising Federation. When he’s not managing the affairs of the 52-person advertising and public relations agency called Richter7 (which has been named Best of State four consecutive years), he and his wife try to manage four daughters and a son (which is very similar in scope to keeping a creative department under control).
